Been on o2 24/7 for 6 years. Two years ago, began to lose voice and have hoarseness. I also have acid reflex. Went to gastroenterologist for endoscopy. Have large hiatal hernia. Went to ENT for camera into my voicebox. Had a look at my sinuses. Went to my pulmonogist. They couldn't find anything and finally decided it was a combination of acid reflex and the inhaled meds for my COPD. I now take Prevacid along with Xopenex, Advair, Spiriva. Sometimes it is so bad, I just can't be understood. Anyone have any ideas or the same situation. I even tried a Neti pot recently hoping it might help, but it didn't.

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...

I have no hoarsness since the weather got better, the big thing I did notice, was to be certain to take the Spiriva and the Advair as 'decent' distances apart from each other, and to most assuredly RINSE after the inhale of the Advair. I personally use like a LIstereen mouthwash, not just water.

My hoarseness went away after the doctor put me on aciphex. It's also a proton pump inhibitor for the acid reflux.
Gook luck to you!
