I recently read about these stents and though to pass along the informaion.
This seems to be a promising new tool in the battle against emphysema. From what I have read and understand, airway stents were originally done on people with lung cancer and as it worked well it was thought this might also help those with severe emphysema. Basically, it is sorta like angioplasty for your lungs in that it creates more space for air to flow through, thus making breathing easier. It appears promising and is minimally invasive.

Please stay well.
