Combivent has been a Godsend to me.......scary to think about not having it.
I took it faithfully...every single day, yet had tons of mucus, constant coughing and wheezing and couldn't walk even to my mailbox. I was also on oxygen 24/7. I stopped using it and went back to Flovent and Combivent due to the knowledge that Spiriva was indicated for COPD but not really for asthma.
My pulse oxy now reads 96 at rest, I do 2 puffs of Flovent twice a day and prehaps once or twice a day I use Combivent with immediate good results, something I never get with Xonopex. I can also walk three blocks now without oxygen. So, all I know is that for me, it works and works well and I will miss it.
I cannot help but wonder when all these tried and true medications are discontinued if we won't see a scandal such as Vioxx was.
I guess time will tell.
Warped sense of humor kicking in: Combivent is not environmentally friendly but they prescribe it for people who have lungs that need the environment to be friendly. *grin* I like the logic in that!
