Generally means: a person who identifies as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT) experiences there own sexual orientation as negative in one or more ways. For example: "Something is wrong with me because I am gay." "If people find out that I am gay no one will like me and some will think I am sick...maybe I am sick" The negative statements can also be directed outward towards the LGBT community as a whole or parts of it such as; the leather community or bisexuals etc... Some find this an inevitable part of the coming out process. What do you think? How have you experienced internalized homophobia?
