"Dear Self...
It is a joy to help others who are earnestly seeking a better life. However, you must always remember you cannot want more for people than they want for themselves. You cannot give something they are not looking for. You cannot help someone who does not want to be helped. And, when you get angry at those you are helping, giving and wanting for, it is time to let go. Love is not to die for."
This passage from "Faith In the Valley" by Iyanla Vanzant really hit the mark for me as I was the giver in the codependent relationship and didn't understand why I ended up feeling victimized.
I thought I'd share... thanks

So true, my son has been out of work for a few months. We were talking last week and i was worried about him for the rest of the day, I was trying to figure out what he should do and where he could find a job. After a sleepless night I found out the next day that he had found a job and it was with a company he wanted to work for, when will I learn to mind my own business.

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
