Many people read codependent no more by melodie beattie
and someone on here said codependency for dummies by
darlene lancer is very good.
I like lisa a romano, she has a lot on free youtube videos,
Ross Rosenberg has some free ones too. They both write
books and both have some media for sale. Darlene lancer
and melodie Beattie have books and Workbooks. Dr henry
cloud has two real good books boundaries and safe people.
I like john bradshaw and pia mellody work, they both do shame
work, both were at the meadows in Arizona. Pia's books they use
as training/modeling in some rehabs centers world wide. John was
a pioneer on the dysfunctional family system and did tv shows on
the family on PBS. Johns work gives you some empathy for the
sweet innocent infant and child you once were.
Hi so today I had my "Epic Realization" of the day, I am codependent, hi. had my freak out because of the term, talking to my councellor tomorrow but pretty certain, I belong here. It's actually reassuring, my "crazy" fits this mould. And it's not just me, it's my partners too, been struggling to understand a bad break up and why it hit me so hard, it fits. Currently wondering if its possible...
Here is a good article by darlene lancer.https://psychcentral.com/lib/when-a-narcissist-is-also-codependent/
