Recovery and facing ourselves is a process and
its not an easy, quick or simple one IMHO. We
were not given healthy coping tools so we cope
thru ego which worked as a child not as an adult.
Many of us display the same issues and it helps
being in a group setting. I myself go to alanon, at
my core i am a codependent that still needed lots
of recovery. Still do as a matter of fact and have
been in recovery for 5 years.
That codependent child was still alive and kicking and
working under my veil of consciousness thru out my
marriage. With detachment and recovery i Can now
see my side of the street. That takes getting Humble
to be teachable and being willing to be honest and come
out of denial.
Hi! Within the past 4 months I have self diagnosed myself with Trich (but I've been pulling for about a year but within the months, everything has gone downhill). I have told my mother (who brought up that when I was around 5/6, I would pull my hair out then too) and she keeps insisting that it is just a habit, and that I just need to "try harder" to make it stop. She doesn't understand that...
