I actually stole my mothers engagement and wedding ring to pawn so I could buy coke. I ended up having remorse over it and going and getting it back but that was one of the worst things.

Stole checks from my mom, money, and anything of value. Also all my brother's baseball card collection. I'd rent my mom's car to the dopeman for hours for like a $20. They should rename crack to "never get enough." Amends will be going on forever. Anything I can do to make it right. Today I jump when asked for assistance from them.

Money and material possessions can be replaced. Hurt feelings and disappointment can be forgiven and even forgotten.

However, TIME & OPPORTUNITY LOST is FOREVER. There is NO REPLACING TIME blown on getting high and wasted on recuperating from binges and blowouts. Finally, except for a few lucky breaks, the MENTAL & PHYSICAL DAMAGE done to the body is permanent.

By the way, that time lost relates to all the other possible people that MIGHT HAVE interacted with me during my heydey, too.

That is the true horror story, hastening the arrival of death without having lived to potential and sharing real love in life.

i've never stolen for drugs, as i've always had money but i've done some really out of it shit high on crack cocaine/meth and ecstacy pills. those memories are the worst.

my worst experience was shooting up at a drug house with my friend, high on k, ecstacy, and meth. we crashed the car into a ditch then just sat in the car smoking heroin(its all that we had left) trying to clear our heads. that was pretty fucked up and a month later tested positive to hep c.

Shit moppy thats just mind blowing.probably better of without money in your case.

We had bought my son, who was 11 at the time, a really nice stereo, the one HE picked out, for Christmas. A few months later, while he was at his dad's for the weekend, we put it in the pawn shop for $40.00-that money went up in smoke. We told him the cd changer had messed up and we had sent it to the manufacturer. We would have it back in a few weeks. One lie after another, after another. We ended up losing the stereo, because we kept doing the drugs and didn't use our money to get his stereo back. So THAT had to be covered with another lie.
I have never been able to tell him what really happened to his stereo. He was so innocent and trusting and we just totally walked all over that. It still makes me feel like shit to think about it.
It is the past now, I can't bring it back. But I am clean and have my son's love and respect for being clean.

Hay everyone.I admire all of your honesty,and i think i`ts healthy to talk about these things to help yourself an others about the problems assosiated with drug addiction.

I lied, manipulated people emotionally and sexually to get crack. I didnt steal, or deal and I didnt use violence because I was not streetwise enough.....
I put myself in some very dangerous situations and im lucky to still be alive today

Once again I hate to go on about it but I really feel that 'crack heads' is such a derogatory term and re-enforces the hopelessness

Where there IS hope if people want it. I know that this is NOT a Narcotics Anonymous site.... but we who are in recovery call ourselves 'addicts' at NA.... Calling anyone a crackhead does not really help matters.....

But please dont think im getting at you or trying to be nasty..... if you have a freind or loved one with an addiction it must be a heartbreaking situation for you to be on that side of the coin and my heart goes out to you xx Kat

Yes I do opolagize for using that term..crack head..i`m just trying to express my point by showing my anger and past negative feeling..from what i went trough, don`t mean it in a bad or harmful way or to reanforce negativity toward people who are hooked on crack....Who knows maybe some people feel that bieng called a crack head is more reason not to be one! However i will try to refrain from using that expression in future posts.I do value and respect your feedback for sure.

Seeing I wrote this post I guess i should share my worst.When was 18 i took my fathers car in the middle of the night took his keys wihout his permission,bought some dope and smashed his brand new chevy beond repair...boy was he pissed when the cop showed up at our house..good thing he loved me thats all i can say. lol.

i had a habit that caused me to steal from my grandmother. it caused me to steal, lie and manipulate everyone and everything. i spent all of my money and had to sleep with my dealer to get my drugs. i hated it. there was no attraction, it was just sex. i would lay there and just pray for it to be over. but at the time it was worth it to get my dope. i never thought i would sink to that level, but i did. now i have 58 days sober and i feel great. i'm still dealing with the terrible things that i did while using, but i am going in the right direction. i go to meetings, i go to on-line meetings. i go to outpatient therapy 4x a week and i see a therapist, psychologist, and psychiatrist. everything is working out great. my life is so much better now than it was. i look forward to everyday now. i don't have to lie, cheat, steal or sleep with anyone to make me feel good. all i have to do is give it up to my higher power and let Him take over. with Him, anything is possible.
