I everyone. well, I went and saw a neuromuscular specialist a little over a week ago. she is very knowledgeable about my type of muscular dystrophy and is understanding about my pain. she told me that we need to think long term treatment, so she put me on Relafen 1,000 mg a day, and I have been using a TENS unit at least 4 times a day. I am getting some relief, but I am also having flare ups. I read that it may take up to 2 weeks for the medication to start working fully. she also told me that if the Relafen wasn't working, then we could try something else, possibly nerontin? I don't know if I should wait a few more weeks and see if it helps, or ask for something new now? Has anyone tried either of these medications? what helped the most? any advice would be great!!
