Hi y'all to my new friends!! I am pretty new to this site, and look foward to making some new friends. I've suffered with Fibromyalgia for 20 years now, and the battle continues.
I want to tell you guys about my experience with Ambien. I don't know if you've noticed, but recently, they added a new warning to their ad campaign.---Sleepwalking, sleep-driving, and doing things with amnesia{not remembering doing certain things} The first two episodes happened while I was in the house{eating in the middle of the night, sitting on the toilet for 3 hrs--both of those, I have no memory of}. But the third time,it was WAY more serious---I got out of bed at 5am{still completely asleep}, in my pj's and bare feet, left the house, got in the car, and started driving!!! I made it about 10 minutes from our home, before I crashed head-on into a telephone poll. It was the crash that woke me up--I was asleep for the whole time before!!!
Thankfully, even in my sleep, I put my seatbelt on. If it weren't for the seatbelt, the airbag, and the emt's and fire dept., I wouldn't be sitting here talking to you!!! They had to take the entire roof off the car just to get me out!!
Anyhow, I recovered quicker physically than emotionally. I've been off the Ambien since the end of Aug.{I'm on Lunesta now} and I have had NO episodes since.
So, please, think twice before you take the Ambien. I had been on it for over a year w/o incident, but my Doc said time doesn't matter.
I care about y'all--that's why I'm telling my story...
Thanks for listening,
Hugs,

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I do suggest that if you are afraid of the side effects you alarm the doors to the house to wake you. Placing a tub of ice water on the floor by th bed so you step into it also works well.
Ouch
I was on it for quite a while, I got off of it as quickly as I could, about a year & a half ago.
