My fibromyalgia, under normal conditions, is somewhat under control. I've been battling the flu for a week now, and parts of it are getting worse, not better. I was at work today (at a doctor's office) and in the middle of working with a patient had to excuse myself to go on a 5 minute coughing jag. Ugh.
The part that is really bothering me, and seems to be getting worse, is the muscle spasms, especially in my side. I took a muscle relaxer an hour ago, and it's not hardly touching this pain.
After my coughing jag this morning, I went and talked to one of my doctors, who gave me a RX for a strong antibiotic....he also told me I could hold it for a day or to, in case this bug is at the end of running it's course.
Anyone else running into this bug? Got any survival tips. This is really starting to get to me.....

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Working for a doctor, didn't you get a flu shot?
Get better soon,
Ouch
Ouch....they offer the flu shot, which I chickened out on getting....I don't react normally to alot of stuff, and was afraid I would have a reaction to it. I told my boss this morning when I called in sick that I would get it next year....she said it may or may not help, depending on the flu going around.
Thanks again, everyone, for your helpful comments. I work full time, go to school part time and just moved, so I have been feeling alittle overwhelmed, and oddly enough, alittle isolated.
Blessings,
Jan
