Anyone here heard about some so called new studies that suggest chronic pain patients on narcotics have hyperalgesia that is actually caused by the pain meds and that the treatment is to wean the patient off all narocitcis and keep them off for 2-3 months as this is the only way to tell if this syndrome has occured? I am being told that I have this, although I don't know how they could possibly know. I have been told that I am a very responsible patient, follow all orders, don't ask for early refills, and have never shown any signs of addictive behavior, so why wean me? To prove I have pain? I just don't get it. And I have been told to agree to do this or my doctor will no longer treat me and once that is in my record I will be hard pressed to find a doctor who will!

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps.
