Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
Now for the junkie part of this post.
We are not junkies nor addicted, we are dependent on our pain meds to sustain a certain quality of life.

Have you had steroid injections? Has anyone talked about surgery with you?
I would say - be honest with your doctors about your pain, and make sure they know how it is affecting your daily life. Make sure they know, even if you have to bring a list with you, all the things you have tried before. And if they aren't willing to prescribe narcotics, push for NSAIDs, ask about doing a steroid taper. There are other meds that can help you that they may be more willing to prescribe. So often the conversation just ends at, "No narcotics." rather than, "Let's see what else can help you."
Thanks for all the great suggestions. Sure hope we can find that holy shoe again Crow!
I am 39 and I have lived the same pain you live now!! I have tired the shots in the feet. They worked for about 4 weeks and caused me to swell.
I am the one that has spent days in bed with ice packs on the bottom of my feet to help the swelling. My feet stayed sore from the ripping and stiff. I went through a pair of shoes every three months.
All this to tell you that I bought a pair of Z-coil shoes a month ago and with in 2 days of wearing them I have no pain, no swelling, and I can walk all day without pain!!! Before I could not walk in the house with out resting my feet every few min.
