I need to know honestly how many you are really taking each day,do you take more than prescribed sometimes and how long have you been taking them..ok?
My doc switiched me to MS-Contin which is a slow release morphine tablet which works on pain but does not get you high or give you the cravings that Percs do.
Ask your doc to switch you to Ms Contin of equal strength then slowly taper down every two weeks.
See if he will also give you prescription for Gabepentin and Valium to help with the withdrawels.
I tapered down to 30 mg of MS Contin then quit cold turkey.
I was on 60 to 80 mg of pure Oxy ie percs without tylenol and he put me on 120 mgs of MS Contin to equal the dosage.
I would try and see a pain management doc he would know the right formula for you.
My withdrawels were not bad at all because I tapered slowly.
I can also reccomend Flexeril for pain which i was also given and they are non addictive
Hope this helps,Percs are a horribly addictive drug,I could never just take my daily dose as I craved that buzz so badly but MS Contin ie:morphine did not give me those cravings
Good Luck
You might want to get a couple of different opinions.
Percs are super addictive and I am impressed you don't take more than prescribed, almost everyone takes more than prescribed
Good Luck,its a rough road
It took me 8 weeks to feel normal after I quit, the withdrawels were mostly being tired, weak fuzzy headed but bearable
