Ok, so today I had the second injection procedure on my neck, the doctor said that instead of just injecting the facet joints, she would be blocking the nerves within the joints as well. S
It hurt so bad, I was sedated (but not out cause she wanted me to be able to tell her if she was in the right spot) but I cried the whole time...they gave more pain killer during the procedure, and a shot of morphine before I left.
So here is my queston....to anyone who has had this done....my discharge directions were different. Something about not eating spicy foods, or dairy products (my biggest protein source) and it didn't say I had to ice, (that was crossed out) and it didnt say I could not use heat (I would love to be able to use my heating pad tonight)
So how is this different from the facet injections?

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...

Plus if the doctor is using fluoroscopes they should see the right spot, what the hell are they doing to you. How can you tell if the needle is in the right spot. That is their job.
Be very leery of this.
Ouch
It is the third day, and I have only taken one pain killer....so I believe that is a good sign.
However....the pre-op/post-op nurse who put in the IV and took vitals and gave me the shot at the end had a raging head cold and told me all about it. SO I woke up yesterday with it. I have been having bad allergies for about a week now, but that were under control and not bothering me....but now, I have a horrible cough....luckily this is the only thing that causes me pain right now....but honestly...take a sick day if you are dripping down the hallway. My sis is a labor and delivery nurse and never goes in if she is actually sick. What do these people think. Just ranting. thanks for listening. AB
