I was seeing a doctor (a pcp) who was giving me 120mgs of Methadone, 80mgs of Norco, Soma, Lyrica and for anxiety she gave me ativan and ambien. I have Degenerative disk disease, fibromyalgia, anxiety and depression. I had seen a pain specialist before her but he was so far away and she told me she would take care of everything I needed. The great thing was she was right up the street. Her office was terrible though. Her husband ran the front desk and never answered the phone. When he did he would put you on hold for a LONG time and never listen to you. He never let you talk to the doctor unless you made and appointment and when you did that they were so over booked you had to wait forever. Anyway, because of this guy the doctor and I had a miscommunication and she thought I was getting medication from another doctor. I never had a chance to explain to her what really happened. Her husband led me to believe that everything was ok but he wouldn't let me make an appointment with her. Finally I got so mad I went to the office and told them they would be hearing from my lawyer. Only then did I get a letter stating that she was TOLD I was getting meds from another doctor and she could no longer treat me. I would like to sue the crap out of her but I don't have the time or money. I would probably lose anyway. I got another pcp and she said there was no way she could give me the meds the other doctor was giving me and told me that other doctor was doing the wrong thing by giving me all of that. Well by now I was running out of medication and starting to feel enormous pain and I was going through withdrawal. I ended up going to a methadone clinic. It was hell getting in there but I won't go into that. I finally ended up at a clinic where they gave me the right dose of methadone for my pain. Finally I went to a new pain doctor and told him everything and I think it scared the hell out of him. He referred me out to a rheumatologist and another doctor that I can't even use because they don't work with the spine. I asked my new pcp to get me another pain doctor. 1st she said she couldn't and then after letting her know that my insurance said it was ok she finally put in the authorization. So here I am waiting. Going to the methadone clinic everyday. I did find a psychiatrist to prescribe me ativan, ambien and lyrica and the clinic said it's ok. But I'm not a person who belongs in a clinic! I have real pain and I hate that I have to drag myself to the clinic everyday in horrific pain just to get a little relief. The methadone wears off at night and I hurt until about 12noon the next day. On the weekends I have to go to the clinic in the morning because they close at 9:30am. On holidays they are only open between 7-8am. And they cost money that I really don't have. When I go to this new pain doctor, what do I say to him. because the truth didn't work for the last doctor. Please somebody, I need advice. I am miserable. I can't go anywhere like home (in another state) to see my family because of the clinic. I can't do anything too late on weekends because I have to get up for the clinic. And I still hurt a lot. I wish that doctor before didn't give me all that medication but I think I needed it for the pain. This pain is killing me! Please somebody tell me what to do :-(
