I have had a 2cm cyst on nerve L5, pressing down onto S1. When I first realized my back pain, I thought nothing of it. Then one morning I awoke with my right leg completely paralized. For six months the doctors were dong MRI's and other scans. Finally the cyst had shifted and my leg strength is coming back. Only now they have me getting these steriod injections into my spine. I've had 2 already this year, now the surgeon has changed his mind and DOESN'T think the cyst is causing my pain/numbness. So, he wants to ANOTHER injection into my hip. UGH...also my cyst isn't fluid filled, it's a large fatty type tissue that is "growing" on this nerve. The surgeon said he doesn't THINK it's cancer, but I worry. Is it time to change surgeons, and I've heard these shots can cause bone damage. What should I do?
