Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
Why would they take your medicine away?
Hugs,
Rosanne
I hope you can figure out a plan for next time. They are hard to get through.
best wishes
Unfortunately for me, my doctors do not want to give me any pain meds. So I am in a discussion with them right now over this very issue. It is the reluctance to give pain meds to CP patients. They would rather we just suffer I guess! Because that is what is happening. Hugs, Cathy
I was on inderal for years and that really kept them at bay. But my PCP took me off of it a couple of years ago as it is not compatible with asthma, which I can get a few times a year. They put me on toprol and it just hasn't worked as well
The thing is I can go several years between episodes but when I am having them, they will last for about four -six months at a time and then go away.
Do any of you ever get pressure in your head when a weather front is moving in? I have had that pressure for three days now and it feels like my head is about to explode. It did get better last night after drinking three diet cokes (I seldom drink soda anymore-quit buying it four years ago) and then the rain began. Today it is back with a vengenance (sp). I know this type of headache is really not a migraine. My migraines start with pain in one of my temples and I usually see an aura, then I am really, really nauseated.
I haven't taken the migraine meds now for several years and I hate to take one more frig**n pill, Hoping this will pass before my next physical. This is when PCP would prefer to adjust meds. She is a little quirky but sometimes I go right ahead and ask her stuff at a visit for colds or whatever comes up.
I know this started as an old post but am really glad to see it opened up. I welcome any feedback. Thanks in advance,
Melinda
