IF YOU HAVE BEEN INJURED AND THERE IS ANY CHANCE THAT YOU WILL LIVE WITH THE RESULT FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE, PLEASE, PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING. I WORKED IN INSURANCE WHEN I GOT HURT SO I KNOW A LITTLE BIT ABOUT HOW THEY HANDLE THINGS.
#1 HURT AT WORK-WHEN YOU SETTLE TAKE LESS CASH AND 100% COVERAGE FOR YOU LIFE ON YOUR INJURY, IF IT IS YOUR BACK MOST LIKELY IT WILL GET WORSE. IT HAS BEEN 14YRS SINCE I WAS HURT AND THIS MONTH MY MEDICAL BILLS WERE CLOSE TO $2000.
#2 APPLY FOR SOCIAL SECURITY AS SOON AS THEY WILL LET YOU. I DID AS AN AFTERTHOUGHT BECAUSE I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO FULLY RECOVER, I DIDN'T. IF YOU HAVE MINOR CHILDREN THEY ARE ELIGIBLE FOR A MONTHLY CHECK AS WELL.
#3 CAR WRECKS-MAKE SURE THAT YOU DON'T SETTLE UNTIL YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOUR INJURY MIGHT DO TO YOUR BODY IN 25YRS. THINGS CHANGE, BELIEVE ME I KNOW. IF IT IS BAD, GET FULL MEDICAL FOR LIFE.
#4 IF YOUR LAWYER DOESN'T AGREE WITH THE ABOVE-FIRE HIM AND GET A NEW ONE. IT IS YOUR FUTURE, NOT HIS.
IF ANYONE HAS BETTER ADVICE OR HAS BEEN THERE PLEASE RESPOND. HOPE THIS WILL HELP, ACTUALLY HOPE NO ONE NEEDS THIS ADVICE

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
My pre-trial and trial date have been cancelled (I needed surgery)and we are now scheduled for private mediation in May. This is the last step, thankfully. It has taken a long time to get here, no thanks to the system that doesn't take the victim into consideration. Thanks for posting the info. Too many injured parties give up under pressure before receiving compansation, or are forced to pull out because of lack of finances. Examine ALL of your options.

For me that had been a ride through hell on a roller coaster--I had 3 different attorneys--finally that 3rd one took control and had stayed on top of all the medical submissions my doctor had requestted--Most of the time the woker's comp denied me medical services--but my lawyer appealed and finally I was allowed to seek medical treatment--I stayed with worker's comp till I could apply for Social Security, that was another brain buster--and what's so interesting is, when I had the injury, I worked for The Ohio Dept Of Health--Currently, my lawyer is getting a financial settlement and since I'm on Medicare, everything that worker's comp refused to have medically done, Medicare will pick up the tab--
But, what a wacked out service they have for injured worker's--an organization that absolutley needs re-structuring.
And to think, we pay for these services through our tax monies--and employers who pay into that service.
Bless us one and all,
