I'm experiencing serious nerve pain right now. It goes from my neck over to my right shoulder and down my arm into my hand to my thumb and forefinger.
I'm also experiencing facial/head pain that I've recently had bilateral occipital nerve blocks to help with the pain. The pain has been coming back in the last week or more, and I don't know how to handle it.
I see my pain doc on Monday morning....so I have to wait to maybe get some answers about this.
Does everyone experience the pain/anxiety cycle that I do????? Anxiety from pain then pain from anxiety.....
I've been in chronic pain for 7 years. I see a counselor and a psychiatrist and am on Paxil 80 mg for the last 10 years.
I really need some consoling....I'm feeling pretty bad (both pain and anxiety-wise) at the moment and I just joined this group and am so thankful you all are out here!!!
Hugs to you all,
~Cathy

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I feel your pain (no pun intended)! I have been dealing with anxiety and pain in my shoulder for the last 5 years now. I have been on several different anxiety/depression meds as well as solely anxiety meds. NOTHING is working and I don't know what to do! I have a 13 yr old daughter and I honestly feel that if it weren't for her I would definitely end it all so I could just be done with all of this! I have started drinking in the last couple months to help relax me but it isn't working either but I continue to do it! Now I feel anxiety from that as well!!!
I just want you to know that I am here for you and completely understand where you are coming from.
Hugs,
Tracy
You mention that your pain is mostly nerve related and that you are going to see your pain management Doctor on Monday....... Has your PM Doc ever talked to you about having a spinal cord stimulator installed to control some of your nerve pain?
The reason that I ask, is because like you, I have problems with radiculopathy (nerve pain) on my left leg, caused by a fusion and some bone that is impinging on my nerves.
But anyway's, after trying every kind of medication for the nerve pain I went to see a new pain management Doctor, and these Doctor talked to me about the spinal cord stimulator. I had a 4 day trial done, and it was the most incredible thing that ever happened to me!
The SCS has been my salvation from my nerve pain, so I think that you need to speak to your Doctor about going through an SCS trial. If the trial doesn't work, then you don't go for the permanent implantation, but if it works then you will feel better for life.
To find out more about the spinal cord stimulators go to: www.controlyourpain.com.
If your PM Doc doesn't work with SCS's then you need to find another one that do.
Take care,
Tipper
I would just talk to your doctor about it on Monday and see what they have to say about it. I hope that you can find some relief soon. I know that this isn't a fun thing to go through.
