Hi everyone. I hope you are having a good day. mine has not been very good, and I don't know where to go or what to do. After a few hours of sleep last night, I woke up this morning in awful pain (low back). I usually always do, but today was worse. I didn't go to student teach, and I also couldn't go to class. It was hard for me to even walk down the stairs. My mom called at lunch and asked what I should do. I have no idea. I hate livving like this and feeling this way. I had a dr. appointment a week and 1/2 ago. He gave me vicoprofen, and said to come back in three weeks. He talked about sending me to a pain clinic. I have had to take the vicoprofen everyday, and still feel little to no relief. I already suffer from major depressive disorder, and this is just making me feel worse. I just don't know what to do anymore or where to turn. The dr. will not perscribe me any stronger meds, and I don't know what else to do. somedays, I just want to crawl in a hole and die. No one around me knows what I am going through (except for the friends here at DS.) Someone please help me.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Ouch
Worrying about going to school, work, what everyone is going to say, feeling like a loser, is common for pain sufferers while still in the workplace.
I know it is hard, but try to relax. Watch a funny movie, take a bubble bath, cut your phone off. Don't talk to negative people, you know what I mean, the type that say, "your always sick", or "I don't believe your in as much pain as you say you are".
Do some breath work, inhale, hold, exhale. It works.
I do think you should try a different doctor though, keep making noise until you find one who will really listen to you.
Good luck, I'm thinking of you.
If that doesn't work, the other way to do it is to go to the emergency room for your pain. They are required by law to treat your pain. Let them know that the meds your doctor gave you aren't working, and you can't get back in to see him for a week, and ask if they can give you something stronger just until you can get in to see him, which will be a week (it helps if you have a receipt that shows what you're being treated for, or at least your doctor's business card with the date of your next appointment). They will usually give you a non-narcotic drug called Terredol (I don't know how to spell it) to ease your pain, and the doctors usually are willing to prescribe something, as long as you're not asking for a lot (like a month supply). Then if they give you the Percocet, and if it helps, you can go back to your doctor with this information. Good luck, I hope you will get some relief for your pain.
Whatever you choose to do, may God be with you,
