The title says it all. I submitted a claim to Veteran's Affairs Canada (VAC) for Chronic Myofascial Pain, Fibro and Migraines. The Fibro and Migraines were as a result of CMP....but I digress. The letter came tonight that the could find no "evidence" that my service in the Canadian Armed Forces had anything to do with my syndrome, fibro or migraines.
I plan to have this reviewed because none of those conditions ever existed before my service. The symptoms strated to appear after much aggravation of my upper back and spine after months of standing at gate duty (this was my secondary duty but was on call out for months at a time) and then aggravated further by my job at a computer all day.
Also in the military our annual fitness test is a 13 km ruck sack march in which a soldier is required to carry in excess of 50 pounds, plus weapon in less than 2 hours. We would also do "work up" training for this fitness test for months before hand....doing as much as 10 km with full kit two days before the test. Then working a full day at my desk.
It sucks but it was kind of expected...VAC denies everybody at first. I submitted my claim in March and they are finally getting back to me now. This could go on for years. (sigh) As many of you are aware this kind of thing tends to drag on and on and on and on etc. I was secretly, well not so secretly, to be one of the "lucky" few that gets her claim paid out on the first try. Oh well, try and try again.
Sorry I shouldn't go on like this when I know that there are people in much worse condition than me. Thanks for letting me vent anyway.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I hope you win on appeal of your claim. Veterans are entitled to all they can get in my opinion. Anyone willing to keep us safe, while we watch HBO deserves respect and support.
Ouch
I am praying for you, like everyone tells me hang in there and don't give up! That is what 'they' want!
