My favorite thing to do now, is when my husband has the flu, I go into the bedroom with the cheeriest voice I can muster, and ask him to take me out to dinner and a movie. When he complains of the pain, and gets totally irritated with me, I remind him that this is what he does on my worst days. He's one of those people who really doesn't believe I'm in THAT MUCH pain. I think you should try that with your mother and see if she gets it. Hope you feel better.
