Just wondering! Of course after being diagnosised I went back and thought about everything I had did in the last few months and my story goes like this... In April I had a CBC done and my white blood cells were fine. I started taking Phentermine to loose some weight in April after the CBC came back ok. I took the Phentermine for several months till November and then in December before I had surgery my preoperative CBC came back abnormal. The only thing out of range was the WBC's they were 25,000. The doctors passed it off to a minor infection because I felt fine and wasn't sick and the only lab out of wack was the WBC's. The I had some surgery (elective) and healed fine. Seven weeks after surgery my WBC's were 59,000. SO I find it hard to not think that this medicine Phentermine might have caused the mutation in my chromosomes because prior to the medicine I was fine. DId anyone that was diagnosis with CML take this medicine at anytime? It was also used in the combination drug Fen/Phen? Fen/Phen caused heart issues in cobination but Phentermine alone was said to be okay and left on the market. Just doing my own research. I am a nurse and know that something had to do this and what it is I don't know but would like to know if there is a correlation between the diagnosis and the drug. Thanks to everyone who responds!
