Can you tell me any experience you've had with the above specialties?
I'm assuming insomnia is the major complaint with CFS, and it would make sense to be seen by an endocrinologist if the hormones are out of balance, causing sleep disturbances. But I was reading online a few nights ago about the hormone melatonin, which regulates sleep. It is produced by seratonin and seratonin is made in the bone marrow, which would fall under a hematologist's specialty.
My white blood count has been off-the-chart low for quite some time, which didn't surprise me since CFS sufferers have a low immune system. I couldn't understand why my DO wants to refer me to a hematologist, but it seems to make sense after I read the whole melatonin/seratonin/bone marrow stuff.
Sharing any experiences you've had with these specialties would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have not been to either of those two specialists myself, but my Dr is a big one for lots of blood tests. He put me on melatonin awhile back, when I was not even really aware that I even HAD a sleep problem. It did help; I even began dreaming again, which I did not really miss until I started dreaming again. I use a time release version that is a two-layered tablet. One dissolves quickly to help me get to sleep, and the rest dissolves slower to help me stay asleep. Without that, I tend to wake up after awhile. Good luck!

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
