When I have what I would call palputating, or throbbing pain I use ice or an ice pack and it numbs it and takes the pain and inflammation away. Heat or a hot shower, heating pad relaxes the muscles and soothes them. But my fib doesnt deal to well with heat unless it is for a short period of time.
I have wrist, elbow, and arm braces that help support my arms that I wear if I am in lots of pain. The help to support the painful area.
The only medications I have found that are effective for eliminating fib pain for me are UltramER 200 mg a day and Cymbalta 60 mg a day.
With Fibromyagia you do get muscle weakness and so you have to learn to do the best you can. There is no easy answer for relief, but the more mobile she stays and the more she learns to adjust to living with pain the easier it will be for her to life with.
