Hi All,
I just need to vent. Three months ago I started using Klonopin with Ambien and BINGO I was able to get seven hours of sleep pretty regularly. Went back to my teaching job in September and grew more stressed, more exhausted. Asked doctor what to do since I was back to my sleep ending at 3:30am. She gave me the OK to add .25 mg on top of the 1.0 I was taking when I feel I need more help sleeping. Well, the past month has been so exhausting I took 1.25 every night and now, because this is a controlled substance in New York I cannot get a refill for 8 days. I called my doctor's office a week ago to let them know I was running out. Why is the pharmacist the one explaining this to me and why am I making seven phone calls (so far) today to just try and get the one medication that has finally enabled me to sleep. I feel like a little kid begging for one more cookie.
I know none of this is personal but it is so frustrating to have to work with the bureaucracy of the pharmacy and my treatment center time after time to get things to work only to keep discovering more rules that get in the way. If even a single one of them had had CFS they'd look out for these snafus and teach me ahead of time because they'd know how one little thing like this can be so important.
It could be worse but I needed to vent. How many Valerian tablets equal 1mg of klonopin?

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
LOL.
I totally hear you Ambien used to work for me but since mid summer I've been taking 2 mg. of ProSom (let's face it .. bennies work!) I literally burst into tears last week when my psychiatrist told me it was being taken off the market. I'm trying to wean myself off NOW so I don't have to do it abruptly. Took 50% less last night and 2 supplements that come HIGHLY recommended. Hardly slept a wink and whenever I "woke up" in the night my hands were completely numb.
Something's not right here. We're not important enough to get a CFIDS drug but we can't get the drugs that DO help us???? Hmmmmm. Another gov't. rant is welling up inside me.
I think I'll go knit now.
It's also one of consequences of having an illness that the gov't. doesn't get.
So sorry.
What's the saying, government for the people, by the people, . . .?
When has it ever been "for the people"?
So many laws hurt as many people as they help.
Thanks for letting me ramble.
I actually one considered taking apart the plumbing underneath my sink to see if I could "find" that blasted pill. Me. I am so totally and COMPLETELY not "handy." What was I? Tired and beside myself.
Have you spoke to your doctor about this?
I was wondering if you could alternate between meds. Say Klonepin one night and another anti anxiety (I cant remember the drugs name right now ) the next night. That way way you would have two scripts enough to carry you through the month.
Just a thought..
I do hope you come up with something.
