I've had a cough since I came down with CFS. I also have a chronic sinus infection. Right now the cough is worse than usual. It is dry in the house. After all it's winter in Vermont and that groundhog has never been to Vermont apparently.
Has anyone else had a chronic cough and if so what do you do when it flares up?
For anyone who knew about my back injection, it didn't work. And every time I cough, my back hurts.
I also have a severe case of cabin fever. Thank God for the internet and Netflix! And DS :-)

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I've seen doctors for mine, and they had no reasonable explanation. It is very likely asthma in my case, with occasional bouts of bronchitis. I grew up in a house with two chain smokers, so I'm predisposed to things like this.
Try an air purifier, they're not expensive. You might be allergic to dust mites, that's very, very common. I run my air purifiers a lot, and they help me very much. I also have a vacuum cleaner with an allergy filter on it, they are not hard to find either. Dust tears me up.
Another tip...toss out your pillow and buy a new one every few months. They get infested with mites after a while....creepy but true. Five bucks for a pillow can really help a lot.
I had a surgical procedure on my back and I remember how much it hurt when I coughed. I hope my tips help you.
I get immune system reactions much more too when I am tied, havn't eaten safe food recently or get chilled. Sneezing weezing and sniffeling and it Autumn with temps 14 to 24 deg C.
Sleep hydration and eating safe food are the only things that decrease the rate of immune system reactions.
An air purifier and a vacuum cleaner with an allergy filter are good sugestions RichieD
I find when I eat something I am allegic to I get a cough, nasal drainage for a couple of days.
Cow milk is my biggest trigger.
I hope this helps.

I grew up in a smokers house and had bronchitis every year. But I haven't had that for years. I may have to go to the walk-in clinic. I don't want to get pneumonia.
Thanks for all your ideas. People on DS always come through.
Better safe than sorry.
Glad I read this post though......gonna get a new pillow and a filter for my vacuum!!
Feel better, friend!!
I have that, and it makes me cough, especially in the morning.
Hope you'll feel better soon!
