The holiday weekend got my sleep even MORE screwed up as I was so zonked that I slept more during the days and less at night. I feel like a newborn who hasn't figured out yet that the daylight hours are to be spent AWAKE while the dark ones are when the rest of the world sleeps!
I've made myself stay awake ALL day and my eyes are literally burning out of their sockets! My goal was to stay up until midnight. Maybe 11:30 ... I'll sleep like a log for about three hours and then BAM .... "morning."

Oh, 2 sleep well again. I've tried the over the counter products. I've tried the prescription medications. They don't even help. I hear you 4Sons. Oh, 2 sleep again ,the good restorative sleep.

I hate that for you, it sucks when sleep patterns are messed up. Hope you are able to get back to "normal" soon!

You're going through an involuntary change of meds - right? Have you ever looked at Jacob Teitelbum's book From Fatigued to Fantastic and seen all the things he says we should try and can try to get that crucial sleep? Everything eastern, western, herbal, behavioral. Maybe there's some ideas you can just try on your own and with your doctor. For instance i had no idea how much melatonin is safe. I take 6mg a night. And valerian - lots. Plus meds and sometimes NSAIDS when needed and Calcium-that's huge. This insomnia thing becomes a vicious circle - I hope you can find something that works again.

Thanks, you guys. As a diabetic I have to be INCREDIBLY careful with herbal stuff. Melatonin, for instance, sends my fasting levels soaring. It's a huge no-no for me. Sooooooo ... very little sleep again last night.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse.
