I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
The thing is to be obedient to His will(which by reading the Bible,His will s revealed)
You will experience peace ,if you allow it to flow through your heart and spirit...but there are no promices your life will get better,
I lived in a good paying lifestlye before Jesus.
After Jesus ,and a move to a smaller town,I have lived in poverty.
So who's to say which was better?
It depends on how you want to spend eternity, and to have a loving relationship with GOD.
Yes, you will be amazed how God changes your life, but he isn't SANTA. He doesn't work that way in my opinion. You life will improve by leaps and bounds, but maybe not like you desire always. The bible says he will always be with us (his saved children) and help us, but this is on his terms, not ours. He expects us to be obedient to him, first. And also, there are no guarantees about jobs, houses, etc. The bibles states that God provides for his creation, but sometimes I personally think that what God wants us to have is vastly different than what we want for ourselves.
Accepting his as Lord of our life, means just that. He is in control and that is exactly where we want him. I always say that the more we can turn over to him and trust him with, the better and better our lives will be.
I think he generally wants the very best for us, but sometimes withholds things or allows sufferings to teach us and grow us up. To refine us.
No matter how you look at it, life with him is always better than the alternative. always.
Its one thing to "put God in your life"
its a whole OTHER thing to "put your life in God"
Accepting him, not only as savior, but also as Lord. When you invite His Spirit into you, and ask Him to make His Will known to you, He is faithful to turn it all around, and to use your life for Kingdom purposes.
Its incredibly powerful how He can do such a mighty work in a blink that takes us years of our own effort to still basically fall short... There is a learning curve in surrendering to Him, but if you are committed and just keep seeking Him, He will not let you down. Pray for His Will...
Do you read the bible? Many suggest starting with the book of John...
In Jesus' name, be blessed!

Church is a great part of the experience, a vital part especially for being educated on the things of God and for fellowship with the body... but there is no replacement for personal intimate time spent with Him, just the two of you, every chance you get (which can be ANYtime... driving, showering, doing dishes... there is no time that you CANT talk to him!) Thats good news, in my book!
Welcome to the family! And don't be surprised if you find challenges... there is no time like now for the devil to come up and want to make you doubt... now more than ever... but Our God is bigger than any lie the devil can tell you! There is nothing to fear, there is no enemy who can match God!
Even Christians go through trials and tribulations. But with God - we are able to get through them alot better than without him. I know for fact that many of the problems I went through in early adulthood were because God allowed me to go through them. If I had not had those troubles - I may have never understood God's plan for my life.
Blessings to you.
God Bless
But understand... it is a battle. Daily you die to yourself and doing things 'your way'. You lay down your right to your life and let Him be Lord of it. As you seek Him and desire to do life His way, He will strengthen you and make the way clear for you to do it. He is indeed amazing!
