I am on SSD for mental illness as of August of this year. I am bi-polar. I have not been in the hospital since june of this year and am on medication. My mother has had my kids (13 and 4) for two years because she thinks I am unfit. I gave her temporary guardianship because I thought it was the best thing (at that time for the kids). Now she is telling me that I can't raise kids if I can't work (not financially, but mentally). Does anyone have any idea about the legal aspect of this? I can't find anything online that sets any sort of precedent. I can't afford a lawyer because I am too low income.
