I really don't think any judge is going to award you custody based on the fact that the mother allows her 12 year old daughter to have a face book page. I think that's realllly reaching. If you have issues with that, then talk to the mother about it.

Honestly, I wish it was that easy! She's only a year, maybe not even a year (depending on her birthday) from being of age to be able to have a page. I would discuss it with the child's mother, which don't get me wrong, I know that isn't easy & probably won't even help the situation. But the court will just think you are being petty. I'm not asking about anything to do with getting custody. That is pretty much taking care of itself, as I said, that is a whole other story. I am not being petty, I was asking how to go about having a facebook page reported and removed. You have no clue what is going on with this situation and I don't apprecieate your replys. I believe there is a link on the actual facebook page that you can click to request it be removed. I've never actually asked to have anything removed so I'm not sure exactly where it would be located.

U can either get on facebook itself to request it be removed or u can actually google facebook contact info and u can get a phone number to call...although if u request it to be removed u will have to have the account name and info that is given on it so they can verify the account does exist....but I agree with u....even at almost 28 that site has caused me some personal issues and so now I watch what I say or do on there as it is just another way technology stirs up drama...so yes, please do the child a favor AND HAVE THE ACCT DELETED...the child WILL no doubt be upset but simply put....u cant falsify info to get what u want and that goes for facebook members as well...when the child gets angry let the child know that lying will get her no where in life and so at that age use it as a lesson learned cause at least with FB it isnt gonna be considered a felony LOL

I wasn't saying I thought you were being "petty" I was simplying stating that if its brought up in court the judge will probably think it's petty. I personally don't think its petty. I wouldn't be fond of my child having a facebook either. I would have major concerns about it also. I brought up what the court would think because you made this statement: " He is horrified at the thought of her being on facebook, and 'is documenting this as just one more thing on the list why he should have full custody.' " That's why I brought up the courts. Sorry if I offended you. I assumed you would know I brought up what the court would think.

My stepson is 12 and will be 13 this july and I still will not allow him to have a facebook page either. So I agree with you that it should be deleted.

You can report it and have it deleted. But the daughter will probably resent you for it. And she likely will have another one set up 5 minutes later. There is always the possibility that the mom knows nothing about the Facebook page. I intercepted my daughter at the same age trying to set up a Facebook profile without asking me. So I set it up and made sure I had the password. I told her the only way I would allow it was if she allowed me access to monitor it once and a while. She's now 15 and still has the same password. EVERY kid has a FB at that age. In my experience, you have to accept something when it is widely accepted across the peer group (as long as it isn't morally or physically dangerous), or you will constantly be in a power struggle. But just make sure you supervise it's use.

Although there are age limits for FB, I did give my 10 yr old a chance to try it so I could see just how he would handle it.....I removed it the same evening after I told him that there are reasons limits are placed on certain things. I let him try it to prove my point to him. And he wasnt upset with me, thought it sucked cause "his friends had one" but understood that I care enuf to not allow him the cruelty of things that are on there. He understood and has never made a big deal of it. Explain to the child WHY u r having it removed B4 u remove it so they will b able to understand why ur taking this action.

I think that depending on the child and the parent, that a child can have a fb page. All 3 of mine have a page. But, I also have all of their info and log in under their account names to see exactly what they are doing, chatting with, ect... some children shouldn't have a page, heck, some adults shouldn't either but that's not the point is it? LOL

Most of my family is on fb and having moved away from them recently, it's a great way for them to still feel connected to those they love. Again though, our situation is a bit different.
