I was in and abusive relationship 6 years ago, I obtained a restraining order and had him removed from my home. Shortly after the restraining order expired the ex moved a few blocks away from me and the abuse gradually started up again. The worse part is that the abuse always occurrs in front of our child, he's a narcissist and loves an audience. Since I remarried two years ago it has gotten significantly worse, plus he has filed for custody of our child. Finally last month I couldn't take living in terror anymore and filed for another restraining order which he immediately violated on a weekly basis. Of course he contested the restraining order, the only witness I had initially refused to testify out of fear of retaliation, then on the court date she showed up and denied ever seing anything. So the restraining order was dropped. I have done everything by the book and according to the law but his family is very wealthy and have the means to drag this out for many more years to come, I don't and the emotional toll this has taken not only on me but my child has been devastating. I feel powerless to protect my child because I can't even protect myself. I know that he will not stop until he either takes my child from me because it is the surest way he has of hurting me or until he sees me dead, in which case he gets my child as well. So it is just a matter of time. I don't know what to do or how to make him stop.

I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
