I was just wondering if anyone had to split custody of a newborn. I am due in May and the father and I were never together, so custody is inevitable. We have agreed already that the baby stays with me for the first 3 months while I am on maternity leave from my job. My question is after that, what would be the best arrangement for everyone involved (me, the father and my daughter)? I dont know the specifics, but the father will be going to school full time and right now he also has 2 jobs, so I am afraid that even if we split custody, he will have too much on his plate to take care of our daughter (at least as a baby). I am supposed to meet with him soon to discuss everything and I would like to have some input from other parents before I can decide what would be best...
