Went to an appt. with Child Support Enforcement. My ex never paid any child support throughout our separation of 2 years and 10 months since divorce was finalized. We have been divorced since Jan. '09 and court did not order child support since I did not have an attorney. since I couldn't afford an attorney I went to CSE for their assistance. They tell me that they will seek child support but will not go after any back child support from the day we separated as long as he responds to their request for him to contact them within 10 days. They tell me there is a slim chance they will attempt to go after the back support even if they have to go to court and even if they do doesn't mean I will get it. I'm just frustrated, angry, and fed up. The ex has his own business so they won't even count any money he makes from his business, only his military retirement pension which is under $1,000/month. This really stinks. It's like he doesn't have to be held responsible for supporting his child. Anyone else experience anything like this?
