Aside from the difficulties with the disease itself, i have difficulty with not having the ability to drink alcohol. Doctors told me that alcohol will cause further damage and i should not consume more then 2 glasses of wine a week. Since my diagnosis, i have stayed away from bars/social gatherings due to the encouragement i get from friends to drink with them. My social life has diminished due to CMT Disease and i have been stuck at home for too long feeling alone and cast out. I dont see the point of going out and being the sober "Debbie Downer," sitting in the corner, feeling sorry for myself. Anyone have a similar experience with their social life?
