Cervical Cancer Support Group
Cervical cancer is a malignancy of the cervix. Worldwide, it is the second most common cancer of women. It may present with vaginal bleeding but symptoms may be absent until the cancer is in advanced stages, which has made cervical cancer the focus of intense screening efforts utilizing the Pap smear. This is the place to talk about your experience with the cancer.

Hi,
I'm confused and hope that you can help. I'm 32, mother of a 3 1/2 year old. I've always had normal pap results, then the past 2 years I did not get a pap. 4 months ago I got an abnormal pap (low grade though), and tested negative for HPV. They also did an ultrasound to check irregular bleeding and pelvic pain and everything was ok. I have been having lots of spotting and bleeding after intercourse (but not always) this past year. I went in today to repeat the pap and the Dr said that I should also get tested for chlamydia and gonorrhea. I've been with my husband since I was 19 and I'm pretty sure I'm ok on the STD front, but ok'd the tests.
So, can you test negative for HPV and still develop cervical cancer? Do you think that this is nothing to worry about? Thanks for any reponse.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I don't want to concern you, but I won't sugar coat it either. Just make sure you take all the necessary tests to make sure this is nothing., And if you feel your doc isn't doing all he/she is asked of...then ask for a 2nd opinion. There is a reason this is happening....it may not be anything major, but it is something(hopefully that can just be treated with meds)..but make sure you stay on top of this..please.
If you need anything or want to talk feel free to msg me anytime. good luck and take care.
Whatever was wrong fixed itself and was no big deal. (Still, I have no idea why I'm bleeding, I'm just glad the pap is normal). Thanks for all your answers, and good luck to all in your treatments. Take good care.
