Cervical cancer is a malignancy of the cervix. Worldwide, it is the second most common cancer of women. It may present with vaginal bleeding but symptoms may be absent until the cancer is in advanced stages, which has made cervical cancer the focus of intense screening efforts utilizing the Pap smear. You can get cervical cancer from HPV - that's very common. There are so many different strands of HPV, though. You can also get cervical cancer due to hereditary reasons. I just saw a show last week where smoking can also cause it. When my pap came back abnormal my doc did test it for HPV. So, that's 1 way to know for sure. Hang in there and take care! ~hugs~

I had the same issue when I was diagnosed with cervical cancer. I had a frien who got it from HPV and everyone else thought it was the only cause. So I asked my doc. He tested me for HPV and it was neg. Every woman on my mothers side of the family has had cervical cancer it is hereditary and smoking does make it more likely. Don't listen to your ex of anyone else. Just talk to your doc. And don't blame yourself or anyone else. Things happen but It has been almost 2 years since they did my leep and the cancer hasn't come back. If you doc is really baffled when it comes to how you got it, get a new doc...... any good doc would understand that there are just some factors that make women more suseptible to cervical cancer

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
