Cerebral Palsy Support Group
Cerebral palsy or CP is the most common childhood physical disability. It is a permanent physical condition that affects movement. There is no cure for cerebral palsy, but various forms of therapy can help a person with the disorder to function more effectively. If you or a loved one has cerebral palsy, join the group to share your experience or get advice from others.
From there he will be referred out to other services that he needs when the time comes.
Be positive, patient, and appreciate his abilities.
My son is 8 and I was told he would probably not walk or talk. He started walking with a walker about 3 years ago and has been talking like crazy for about 4 years now. I am not sure what state you are in but I am in CA. We have ALTA regional center in Ca that has been a great help to us and my son sees a PM&R Doctor- (Physical,Medical & Rehab Dr.). We only seen a neurologist in the beginning and no longer see one because he has no neurology issues. My son also ate baby food until he was almost 2 1/2 because of choking issues but now can pretty much eat anything, he also had reflux but has also grown out of that. He also started with PT and OT at 12 months old and that has helped him a lot. He know also gets botox injections in his calves and thighs and that was been wonderful for him. I guess I am trying to say with CP you just never know. I remember being told that so many times- "we just don't know what his delays will be" and that is so frustrating when you just want an answer. I totally understand where you are coming from. It is hard to not know. If I can be of any help please let me know.
God Bless & GL

Your grandson is so handsome, what a cutie. You will not know how the CP affects him until he becomes older. It is great they are able to diagnose CP earlier now, I was one before my parents were told. You are no longer alone :o)
