Celiac Disease Support Group
Celiac disease is an auto-immune disorder of the digestive system that occurs in genetically-predisposed individuals. It is characterised by damage or flattening to all or part of the villi lining the small intestine, which interferes with the absorption of nutrients. This damage is caused by eating anything with gluten (gliadin), a protein found in wheat, rye, and barley...
As for reactions, there is a percentage of Celiacs who have a reaction to oats, just like there are those who can't eat dairy or corn or soy. Check out the research and info on oats for celiacs on www.celiac.com, and check out GF oats on Bob's Red Mill website.
It's better to buy the GF oats from the whole food store and make your own oat goodies!!
Sorry!! :)
"It is our goal to help our consumers determine whether or not they can include our products in their diet. To accurately accomplish this, we believe it is best to refer to the specific ingredients listed on each product package.
However, we do understand that ingredients can be confusing, so we want to assure you if the ingredient label does not list wheat, barley, rye, oats or gluten containing ingredients sourced from these grains, then the product would be gluten-free. Sources of gluten are listed on the label even if the source of gluten is part of another ingredient (such as flavoring or spice). Because ingredients may vary from one package to another due to product reformulation, you should use the products ingredient label to provide you with current and accurate information."
The truth is that celiac disease creates an increased risk of cancer in celiac's who continue to consume gluten.

Gorilla Crunch tastes MUCH BETTER than kicks and has a peanut butter flavor. I don't know if they all do have that wonderful flavor.
Tell them the truth. It's better than kicks. LOL
There is no such thing as different tolerances other than differences in noticing or experiencing symptoms. Not having symptoms does not mean it is not harming a person. There are lots of silent diseases that do great harm or kill people.
Hi bloop pressure can be completely A symptomatic and yet these people have heart attacks and strokes.
Anyone with CD shouldn't even touch something with gluten.
Gluten goes through the pores.

The above link will show the SIX gluten free chex cereals that is available now. WOW! SIX different flavors!
GF foods are more expensive and it is what keeps us well or as close to well as possible. Then finding lower priced stores that carry GF helps a lot. Wal-Mart now has some GF and their selection is growing. Buying bulk helps too.

I went to the store the other day and every cereal box I looked at had 'malt flavoring' except for Kix, so I bought Kix.
I must not have looked at Rice Chex. I'll get that next time.
I like cheerios - is there a gluten free product similar to that?

Also, it is very rare to be glutinized by touching something.
