i have been worried lately because my boys are fighting and hissing. i feel sorry for the younger "underdog." i fear it is getting bad and won't stop. i have intervened many times. they used to cuddle, clean each other and they eat together without any problems.
does anybody have advice?

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I would try Rescue Remedy to calm things down. You can get it at health food stores, Whole Foods, and a bunch of other places. A few drops in their water or rubbed on their paws or ears can makle a world of difference.
Try giving each one some personal time alone with you. Cats need 10 minutes a day of personal attention for good emotional health (some need more). That can help too.
I know how it goes sometimes. my youngest picks on my oldest sometimes and can get really rough. I've broken up a number of fights, but Zenobia has gotten the idea (finally) that this behavior is unacceptable and toned things down quite a bit.
Good luck.
