Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Support Group
Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is a medical condition in which the median nerve is compressed at the wrist causing symptoms like tingling, numbness, night time wakening, pain, coldness, and sometimes weakness in parts of the hand. CTS is more common in women than it is in men, and has a peak incidence around age 50 (though it can occur in any adult).

If I don't wear a splint on that hand then yes. I also wake up sometimes with numbness in the hands when I haven't even slept on it... at first it was terrifying but now it's quite normal. I have to get another splint for both arms or even for my car incase I sleep over I suppose.

For me when it was bad i couldnt sleep for it.. That is how it started though give yourself maybe 6 months and youll be wishing it was just when you woke up.. I could never find the right place to lay my arms ever..striaght up over the head usually and sleepin pills. I so wish you would go ahead and get the steroid shot to your palm now.. You will save yourself so many problems sure to come. I couldnt even drive the car. the sittin up right position i guess. But My hands were so tingley numb and crazy feelin that i steered with just my palm part of my hand while shakin out my fingers. I wish you the best get help now..

I used too and the pain and numbness was so bad not only would it wake me up several times a night but it became unbearable. I couldn't paint I couldn't do many things. The splints eliminated that problem for me and I wear a splint on my ankle too because I have tarsal tunnel in that ankle/foot. Now it's much better. I'm a very active person and I really don't like chronic pain. So I take my herbs and Emu Oil to help with the cts and tarsal tunnel too.

Today is my 25th birthday, to my somewhat lack of surprise I can see already no one really seems to care. I've always been the kinda person to make sure that everyone I Care about feels appreciated and knew somebody had their back. I can count 4 times this year when I Went out of my way to make sure a "friend" felt good on their birthday, especially if they got left hanging. Its early in the...
