Hi everyone, I am new to this site and so far feel like i am in the right place. My name is Charlene. I am married and have 2 great children. We have an apartment on our home where my mom lives. She is a widow. We lost daddy 3 years ago. Mom has been diagnosed with Mild Cog Inpairment last year.I think in the past year it has progressed alot. I am also a CNA so i work with alot of elderly patients at different stages of dementia. I am having a hard time with balaancing taking care of my family, my home, my work, my kids school and sports activities, all that and mom's home and many doctors appointments showering and just finding time to spend with her as a friend and daughter. I love her very much and sometimes she feels like i just rush in and put up her pills and run off (which is true) but I am like a tug of war rope sometimes.
I would love to just forget everyone some times and just run away!!
I do have 2 other sisters but they are NO help at all.
I am happy to have found this site and you all and welcome any ideas you may have to help me ease this guilt i feel and tricks for balancing things so nobody feels neglected.

My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Try to schedule personal time for yourself as well. I know that is easier said then done (not that good at following that advice myself), but really you have to take care of you so that you can give your loved ones the best you can.
Best of luck to you.
god bless you and give your strength to run the distance
