Hi all,
I've seen a few posts recently about some of you having a difficult time regarding your loved ones only being able to eat soft food.
I made a couple of things that I thought were suprisingly good, so maybe someone can make use of these...
Breakfast power shake
this tastes like something from the dairy queen but it's healthy
makes about 2 large shakes
mix in a blender
about 2T peanut butter
2 bananas
a few splashes of apple cider
1 scoop of whey protein powder (optional)
Pumpkin Soup
I adapted this from Robin Millers show...
1 (15 oz) can of plain pumpkin (not pie mix)
1.5 cups of chix broth
1 cup of milk (or 1/2 c cream and 1/2 c of milk -- or All Cream yummy -- you can mix it up an way you like)
1/2 t cumin
2 bay leaves
1 t chopped garlic
1 T olive oil
a pinch or two each of cinnamon, paprika, nutmeg, dry mustard
about 1 t of dry basil and parsley
salt and pepper
whisk all wet ingredients in medium saucepan. add dry ingredients and stir, and bring to a simmer. simmer on low for about 10 minutes. remove bay leaves and serve with garnish -- pumpkin seeds or popcorn, or toasted nuts... or goldfish, whatever you like.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
