got a very nice break...

dh and I were able to getaway for several days and just be unplugged and... not responsible for anything. it was just so lovely.

but, to do it, I had to call in favors from
- 2 people for our dog
- 1 person for our cat, which was huge, because the cats fought for hours and hours until they settled in. poor lady
- 2 people for our son
- 2 people for our d.sil and fil (what an experience they had with them!)

all different people. what does that tell you ? LOL

anyway I am soooo grateful for the break and I wish you all the same - VERY SOON!

I am so happy that you got a much-needed break. Yes, so many different people for the different people/animals that you take of alone - shows just what a strong person you are. As for me, I heard that Paul Anka is going to be in Halifax on December 11th and I would LOVE to get away and go with my hubby for a night to catch the show and stay at a motel/hotel. But who can I ask to look after my son? (make sure he takes his meds, etc.). Don't know - I did mention it to my sister who lives 2 streets over if she could come in the morning before she heads for work and wake him up to take his meds and make sure he takes his meds at suppertime - and perhaps invite him to stay overnight? Well that bombed. She is 'way too busy' - well duh... all her kids are away,married etc. Oh well... am still trying to see - will talk it over with son's case manager and see if he has any suggestions. I know he is 21 and should be able to stay home overnight (and actually I would have no problem with that but I am afraid he won't take his meds for 2 days and that could prove disastrous). He goes for blood work on Mondays and Thursdays so that would not be an issue with my sister (the show is on a Tuesday night) - I guess I could put an ad in the paper - but he is 21 and really, it would be degrading for him to have someone 'babysit' him. But if only my sister would come over at suppertime on the Tuesday (we would ensure he takes his meds that morning) and then come over the next morning (Wednesday) it would work. I have no other family member. I know my other sister Julie would have done it, but she died in January.

OMG.. I can so relate as all others who care for someone.. even telling the new caregiver for the day. How to tie the shoes so they fit right..

    theatre and I are there already. I'm having a very berry tea with crackers, cheese and cherry tomatoes and she's having a joint with some beer and we're both on really comfy recliners on thick pile carpet. we need some help with the decor if anyone is around??

    I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
