I'm a little worried about my situation. I have a call into the Elder Info line right now asking them what are the qualifications for Medicare in a nursing home and for Medicaid nursing care in our residence. There is no savings, no long term life insurance (mom had until she was 80 yr to get it and she didn't). House is in my mom's name. When I moved in 3 yrs ago I wish I knew to insist my name be put on the title. I think there is now a 5 yr look back period. So if mom has to go into assisted living, even though the house is my residence, "they" can make us sell the house to pay for care!! Mom said God will take care of things. God also gave us brains to use too. I hope I get better news from the Elder care people!! Thanks mom....
