I currently work as an executive assistant in health care but there is a real possibility that my job will be phased out in the next year. My husband has been laid off since December. He is currently looking for full-time employment but hasn't had any luck landing a job yet. We're both in our 50's...and even though there's not supposed to be age discrimination out there it sure seems to exist. I would like to start up our own business...something in the real estate line. My husband is a maintenance tech/handyman and I'm very good at running an office/ organization. We're both a little afraid to jump in feet first but we've have a little money saved up. I think now is the time to do it while I'm still working full time because by the time my job is phased out there would be a good possibility that we would be up and running. Any one have any advice for me? Thanks.
