Breastfeeding Support Group
While breastfeeding is recommended by many doctors, it is not as simple as it seems. This is a community dedicated to parents who are choosing to breastfeed, providing a safe place to discuss everything from pumping, to questions of whether baby is getting enough, weaning, breast care, scheduling, supply, and more.

Hey Ladies,
Have any of you ever used a supplement to increase your milk supply? and did it work? I have had a blocked duct for a day and a half in my right breast, and a very sore bleeding nipple on my left breast, so I have been taking a break from pumping and nursing to let myself heal. My husband helped me get the duct unblocked, and my other nipple is on the mend, so I tried pumping, but I have noticed a drop in my supply which Im sure is due to the issues I've been dealing with and I'm not sure if I should waste my money on a supplement or not. My LC said to try Mothers Milk? I guess it's a tea?

Today is my 25th birthday, to my somewhat lack of surprise I can see already no one really seems to care. I've always been the kinda person to make sure that everyone I Care about feels appreciated and knew somebody had their back. I can count 4 times this year when I Went out of my way to make sure a "friend" felt good on their birthday, especially if they got left hanging. Its early in the...

Oatmeal cookies to increase lactation
* 1 cup butter
* 1 cup sugar
* 1 cup brown sugar
* 4 tablespoons water
* 2 tablespoons linseed (flaxseed) meal
* 2 large eggs
* 1 teaspoon vanilla
* 2 cups flour (whole wheat is best, but regular is ok)
* 1 teaspoon baking soda
* 1 teaspoon salt
* 3 cups oats, thick cut if you can get them
* 1 cup or more chocolate chips (I like a whole bag of mini semi-sweet)
* 2 tablespoons of brewers yeast (be generous)
Directions:
Preheat oven at 375 degrees F, 180c. Mix together 2 tablespoons of linseed meal and water, set aside for 3-5 minutes. Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, mix well. Stir linseed mixture and add with vanilla to the butter mix. Beat until blended. Sift together dry ingredients, except oats and chips. Add to margarine mixture. Stir in oats & chips. Scoop onto baking sheet greased or lined with baking paper. (I used my baking stone and airbake pans with no issues when using real butter)
Bake 8-12 minutes, depending on size of cookies. (shorter time = softer cookies, longer time = crispier cookies)
Serves: 6 dozen cookies (a huge batch)
Preparation time: 15 minutes
*Linseed and brewers yeast can be found at any local health food store, or health food aisle. Flaxseed is just the American name for Linseed.*NOTE* IT MUST BE BREWERS YEAST, NO SUBSTITUTIONS, can be found at health food stores too. Bakers yeast will NOT do - it must be brewer's yeast. Or try a bulk food store
I love Oatmeal and will enjoying that tomorrow
