Breastfeeding Support Group
While breastfeeding is recommended by many doctors, it is not as simple as it seems. This is a community dedicated to parents who are choosing to breastfeed, providing a safe place to discuss everything from pumping, to questions of whether baby is getting enough, weaning, breast care, scheduling, supply, and more.

Today is my 25th birthday, to my somewhat lack of surprise I can see already no one really seems to care. I've always been the kinda person to make sure that everyone I Care about feels appreciated and knew somebody had their back. I can count 4 times this year when I Went out of my way to make sure a "friend" felt good on their birthday, especially if they got left hanging. Its early in the...
A few tiems a day, if you can pump AFTER a feeding for 5-10 min. that will offer further stimulation to your breasts, and increase production (do it AFTER to make sure your baby has his fill first).
Remember successful bf is FEED on DEMAND. DO nOT try to time your baby, or space his feedings, etc.
If you are introducing solids and baby is less than one ear of age, but more than 6 mths, always bf first, as bm is supposed to be his main food sourc e for the first year of life. Then you can "supplement" with the solids.
Make sure you are eating and dring=king enough, high=energy foods.
Do not take sudafed, tyelnol or advil sinus, or equivalent, as the ingredients pseudophedrine, act to decrease milk supply.
Finally, if you see that despite intensively offering the breast as demanded by the baby, for several days, you still have concerns, it may be possible for you to get a prescription for domperidone, which acts on prolactin to increase milk supply. THat is a last resort, however.

FINALLY OF GREAT INTEREST TO ANY BREASTFEEDING MOM:
If anybody has been helped by DR Jack Newman's site, please consider making a small donation to help keephis bf clinic in operation. All government funding has ceased, adn they deperately need donations to continu helping mothers with bf issues. Thanks.
As far as enriching supply, there is always power-pumping, fenugreek, mother's milk tea, and things like this. I think if you google it you'll get a ton of info!
