A few thoughts Whitegold. For every single woman who has a substantial health problem there's a single man with a substantial health problem. There's as many single men diagnosed with cancer as there are single women diagnosed with cancer. Just think of all the single men in the world who have substantial health problems and who are looking for a partner and apprehensive about telling a woman they have a health problem. The number is vast.

Don't forget that half the world's population have no breasts to speak of and they generally get along fine without them. Breasts don't make a person, it's what's between the ears that counts.

Hello Whitegold. When I was diagnosed with breast cancer I was given the option of haveing the whole breast or just the lump removed. I opted for the whole breast. I am a single woman, but i feel that if and when i meet a man i want to spend time with, and he has a problem with only one breast , then he is not a person I want to spend time with! I wonder if your ex said what he did just to undemine your confidence and gain that little foot hold in your divorce. I do not dounbt yo are a wonderful, warm , loving and humourous woman who will someday make a man very happy, as he will you! YOu are not just a breast, you are a woman. I wish you all the wonderful things that your life has to bring you!

As a breast cancer survivor I can say this #1 your ex is a jerk , #2 If a man thinks like that then he is not worth wasting your time on and #3 there are men out there who are not as insensative and superfical as your ex--you just haven't found him yet--but chin up I found mine and wouldn't trade him for all the love or money in the world. evi

whitegold, do NOT believe that no-one would want you dear. That is just not true. And I think that was a very, VERY uncalled thing for your ex to ever say to you. My good Lord.
You are just as wonderful with one breast as with two. Our body parts do not define who we are. They just don't. My bet is you will meet someone that loves you for who you are which is the most important thing in this world.

I actually was feeling the same way. My hair has not come back yet and I have yet to do reconstruction survery, but the funny part in all this is the more things I had to endure in regards to the cancer, the more confident I became within myself. I have never been confident in my appearence and sometimes people read that and feed off of it.

Look at yourself in the mirror and embrace who you are, when you truly believe and know you are beautiful it will show in your walk and talk. It will begin to radiate from the inside out. You have to believe in yourself.

your ex husband is an asshole. and has cancer of the mouth, there is no cure for that. my daughters boyfriend has stood by her every step of the way, and her right breast is deformed from her surgery and she is as bald as a babys butt and has gained about 25 lbs. from raging hormones. so there are plenty of men out there and he should love you for who you are, not because you have two breast.
